The Look

Strephon kissed me in the spring,
Robin in the fall,
But Colin only looked at me
And never kissed at all.
Strephon's kiss was lost in jest,
Robin's lost in play,
But the kiss in Colin's eyes
Haunts me night and day.
-- Sara Teasdale

Have we ever tried staring to someone or should we say being stared by someone?

Have we ever tried being kissed by someone we really do not love?
The experience of getting kissed. Well ,this will really be hard for me since I haven't tried to kiss and being kissed by someone special. But for me, kissing someone really takes a lot of courage and confidence. The men in the poem really showed confidence and courage in kissing her but why does she doesn't love what they did? Why did she like the way Strephon looked at her even though he did not kiss her? It is because it was really full of sincerity. Like love, you really have to be sincere in showing your love to the other person because it is more appreciated when everything you do is from the heart.
As what I have said earlier, it really takes courage when you kiss someone. But you know what, it takes more courage to stare at someone's eyes because you really have to be sincere and you must show what you feel for him or her just through the eyes. Yes, it is difficult but you do not have to kiss someone just to tell him or her if what you really feel is true. One sincere stare and, poof! She or he is yours!

As a girl, it is really flattering and very heart-melting if a guy would stare at you and you will really feel that he or she has feelings for you. It is very flattering because it is not usual nowadays because during these times, people show affection by telling you face to face their feelings for you.
For me, there is really nothing wrong if a guy will stare at you unless he has an eye defect(joke!), there is nothing wrong with that, it is just if you feel that the way he stares you is real, then it is very much fine with me. I prefer that the guy will stare at me in showing his feelings for me rather than kissing me. It just shows that he really has respect for me and that is very important to me, and, I think it is sweet for a guy who will really respect you.

LOVE: An act of the will, not of the heart

Is love an act of the will or of the heart? For me, love is an act of the will with all your heart. You do not consider it love when all you have is the will and without the heart. You can never say its real when you do not put your heart to it. You also do not consider it love when all you have to follow is your heart because without the will, you will surely end up broken.

Being a teenager, you experience these things. There would really come a time that you really have to ask yourself if what you feel for someone is real. Confusions start to linger on your mind whether you have to follow your heart or your mind. It is really hard especially when you are in your teenage years because all the pressure is there may it be school pressure or peer pressure. It is hard because many factors could really affect your decisions which is really very important. It is very hard like when you fall for someone who just ignore your feelings for him or her. It is hard when you have feelings for someone and unconsciously your close friend or your best friend also has feelings for him or her. These are only some of the situations that proves that love really is very confusing and problematic.

The hardest part of falling in love is the decision making. It is hard because you really have to be wise in your decisions and you must put into mind that it is really not easy to be hurt and that you might not take it. It might change you and how you deal with people. It may ruin your life. It is very difficult to cope up with things around you after you are hurt. You may experience the worst thing like being alone, lonely, and being left out and broken. It is in this times that you will really need people whom you can turn to. You will surely need friends, your family and of course God for the guidance. It is in these times that you really have to follow what you think is right for you and the people around you.

Loving a person is really risky because you really have to think whether that person really deserves your love and that will he or she return all the love you have given back to you. It isn't easy after all because although he or she can bring happiness in your life, but it is only for the meantime because not all the time you will be happy with him or her, you really have to undergo obstacles and challenges. These things are very important because you will really learn many things and these things may help you in your decisions.

So once again, love requires decision making with all of you. You really need the mind and the heart in order for you to achieve what you really want. You really have to make choices that is best for you and the people around you.

LONLINESS

A blank message would best describe what lonliness really mean. But since I must write a five-hundred-word blog post, I won't be able to comply with the requirement so I must write something about it instead of a blank message.

A person could not interpret well or write about this topic if he or she have not experienced such. Since I have tried being alone before, I am very much eager to share to you my experience and what ,for me, lonliness is.

For me, lonliness is when you feel alone, sad and left out. Alone because you do not have someone whom you can talk to. Sad because all you have to do is reflect on your problems. Left out because you feel you do not exist at all. You feel they all of them turned their back on you.

You feel there will be no one not even a sigle creature that will be there for you.
Being alone is never easy. It is one of the most difficult challenges in life that one's courage and strength to hold on is being challenged. Being alone is hard because you really have to face all of your problems on your own.

Positively Positive Stroking

Last March 24 and 25, 2007, the graduating students of the University of the Philippines High School in Cebu had their retreat. The activity had their assembly in the High School campus. It was already 9 a.m when we started the activity. It all started with a prayer. There was this briefing on what a retreat is all about. We also had an activity all about life, career, family, etc. We were given a questionnaire all about this and we were given a chance to share our answers to our batchamtes through small groupings.
The next activity we had before lunch is the POSITIVE STROKING. This activity is not new to me because I tried this when I was in my elementary years when we had a leadership seminar and this is one of our activites. This activity works by forming two circles. We are then grouped into two. The first group were asked to sit in the first circle of chairs. They were asked to close their eyes and asked not to open them unless they are told so. The people who belong to the first group did not have any idea on what will happen. Maybe it is only me who knows what will really happen since I have tried the activity before. The second group were then asked to go out from the room and had a briefing outside on what will they do.
After their short briefing, they were then asked to get inside the room for the activity to start. So the activity started. The second group started to talk to the person they are assigned to talk first. They say all positive things about the person in front of them. After a few seconds, they were then asked to move to their right side and proceed with the activity but with another person this time until they return with the person they first said something to. After the first round, the first group were then asked to get out from the room and were also briefed by mdm Maglasang, the moderator. Then, it is their turn to talk to the second group and the second group's turn to listen to the first group. The whole process was repeated. There were a lot of crying that happened. Almost all of the people inside the room were very emotional. I think that activity will be our last chance in saying everything we want to say to all of our batchmates.
I really had good time thanking and asking for apologies to my batchmates. It was such a nice activity because I felt really light and very relaxed afterwards. It was, I think, the best part of the whole retreat. Since I belong to the first group, I never had the chance to thank and say sorry to my groupmates.
We were really thankful to Mdm Maglasang for the activity. The activity was very successful because it really helped how we deal with each other afterwards. We were more bonded. There were broken friendships that were mended. The closeness of the batch is really at its best right now.
Thanks to you Madam.

How I Want to Be Remembered After I Leave High School..

Graduation day is very fast approaching. Soon we, the graduating students, will be parting our ways. Soon, we will be pursuing our dreams and aspirations on our own. I will really miss my batchmates, my schoolmates, my teachers, and the memories I had during my high school years.

Graduating from high school especially here in UP High is hard because first, you have to pass all the subject matters and you really have to pass through pressure, may it be peer pressure or pressure from your teachers and from the subjects and the deadlines. And also, it is very hard leaving the walls of UP High because this is the only place in the world where I have found real people. It is the only place where I have shown the real me. It is where I had friends who were really there for me. So much on reminiscing the past memories I had with the batch.

After I leave highschool, I want to be remembered as someone who is real. Someone who became a big part of the lives of my fellow batchmates. I want to be remembered as a true friend. Someone who really cares for the others. Someone who is really there when they needed a companion. I want to be remembered as someone who is fun to be with. Someone who can really turn a bad day into a good one. And lastly, I want to be remembered as someone who will never, ever give up despite all the obstacles.

The day after the "big day"

As we, the fourth years, all know, graduation day or shall I say, "the big day", is very fast approaching. Our first year in UP High seems like yesterday. I never thought that our four years in our school would pass by that fast. Maybe we were just enjoying the ride or maybe everyday was just full of fun that we tend to forget that it will soon come to an end. It is so hard to leave my highschool friends maybe because we have shared almost everything to each and everyone. From our most fun experiences to our worst. I can never, ever forget these people who made my highschool life very colorful.

Even though we will be graduating this coming 18th of April, there are still plenty of questions on my mind that are left unanswered. But there is a question on my mind right now that I am really very interested to answer. It is, "What is the very first thing I will do after the "big day"?. Sounds interesting. Right Guys? Well, I have an answer to that. Me? The very first thing I will do is pray. Why? It is to thank God for all the blessings He gave me. For letting me graduate. For the blessings that He showered upon all of us. For giving me and the whole batch four years to share our best and worst experiences. For giving me great people including our mentors(that includes you sir!hehe)that I shared my four years full of learning, enjoyment, and achievements. For giving me the courage and the strength to the real me in four year time. I am thankful to Him because He did not only gave me wonderful things but also challenges that made me learn a lot.
The next thing I would do is to cry. Why? It is because I will truly miss those people who are very close to me next to my family and God and those people are the people who belongs to Batch '06-07 and also to our Teachers and also to my schoolmates who are also close to me.

I will never, ever forget this journey I have walked with you guys. Let me grab this oppurtunity to Thank You all and to apologize for all the mistakes i have done that may hurt you. Sorry once again. I will truly miss you guys. I love you all.

"I demand for RESPECT!"

Last March 9, 2007 was probably the worst day of IV-Tan. Why? It is because there were plenty of misfortunes that happened during that day. Maybe because all of us were very busy with our deadlines.
During our Civil Welfare Training Service or CWTS, we had some marching exercises for a special program for the retirees. We never expected that we will experience something we never experienced before, to be "tortured" by a batchmate who seemed to be an officer. We never expected that there were people that fainted during that exercise. Imagine, he gave us 36 bombers because some were late when he asked for a "humanay". He was really inconsiderate! He did not hesitate to punish us even though he knew that there were plenty of girls who had their period that time.He was really harsh! It was him against the whole batch. During that afternoon, after the CWTS, we had a open forum about that incident. All of the students of IV-Tan were asked to get inside the room. We gave him the chance to reason out what he really was thinking during that time when he gave us that punishment.
Well, he does not deserve to be called one because being a leader does not only mean that you will make your members follow everything you ask them to but also consider their limitations. You must also be aware of the things they are not capable of doing. Since, these have not been seen inside this officer, probably, you should not be considered a leader.

Always remember that we do not demand for respect, but we will earn this by learning to respect ourselves and others.
